[NDOH] In February 2006, a superseding indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Cleveland charged Mohammad Amawi and four others with conspiring to commit terrorist acts against Americans overseas, including U.S. military personnel in Iraq. A separate indictment charged Bilal Mazloum with making a false statement to federal agents in February 2006. In June 2008, three of the defendants including Amawi were convicted of conspiring to commit terrorist acts against Americans overseas and other terrorism-related violations. Amawi was later sentenced to 20 years in prison.
