[CDCA] Bahram Mohammad Ostovari, an Iranian national and U.S. lawful permanent resident was arrested on a federal indictment charging him with illegally exporting railway signaling and telecommunications electronics from the U.S. to Iran in violation of U.S. sanctions laws. Ostovari allegedly used UAE-based front companies to acquire and conceal the shipment of controlled electronics destined for his Tehran engineering company, which supplied systems to Iran's government and railway sector. Prosecutors allege the scheme operated from 2018 through 2025, including after Ostovari became a U.S. lawful permanent resident in 2020.
