[CDCA] Four men were indicted on charges of conspiracy to levy a war against the U.S. government. Kevin James (aka Ahmed Binyamin Alasiri), along with several Folsom prison inmates, established a terror cell to attack military recruitment centers, the Israeli consulate and synagogues. In December 2007, two of the defendants, Kevin James and Levar Washington, pled guilty to federal terrorism charges. Levar Washington was sentenced to 22 years, Gregory Patterson was sentenced to 151 months, and Hammad Riaz Samana was sentenced to 70 months in prison. Kevin James, aka Ahmed Binyamin Alasiri, was indicted again in 2020 for selling four pounds of methamphetamine while he was on supervised release following a 2009 terrorism conviction. Alasiri pleaded guilty in October 2021 to one count of distribution of methamphetamine. In March 2022, he was sentenced to 188 months in federal prison for selling nearly four pounds of methamphetamine. Alasiri was on supervised release after completing a 16-year federal prison sentence for conspiring to levy war against the United States through terrorism.
