[SDFL] Samer Mehdi, Emilio Jacinto Gonzalez-Neira, Khaled Safadi and Ulises Talavera along with their businesses were indicted on charges of violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and smuggling electronic goods from the United States to to a shopping center Galeria Page in Paraguay. The U.S. government has designated the shopping center as a funding arm of Hizballah. The defendants were sentenced to prison terms that ranged between six months to a year.
