[EDNY] In July 2004, Numan Maflahi, a Yemeni-born United States citizen, was sentenced to five years in prison for lying to investigators during a terrorism financing investigation centered in Brooklyn, NY. Maflahi falsely denied helping al-Qaida tied Yemeni cleric Sheikh Abdullah Sattar who made a fund-raising trip to Brooklyn mosques in 1999.
